Leave your hotel or the river port by the minivan. Take it to the west bank of the Nile River; as you drive, listen to stories told by your guide from Next Holiday Travel about the Valley of Kings a mountain-cut royal necropolis that was once part of Thebes, an ancient capital where Luxor stands today. If there are any specific subjects you would like to know more about, please inform your guide. The tour and commentary can be customized according to your interests. Watch the rugged mountains closely, and once you reach them, there will be a short halt at the valley’s visitors center; from there, explore its inner rock cut chambers and tunnels. Guides cannot accompany you inside tombs, but your guide will brief you on what is inside each tomb before you enter them. Walk through vivid, hieroglyph adorned passageways and discover painted rooms that formerly housed the bodies of pharaohs from ancient Egypt. In case you are interested, there is an extra charge at the location.

Next, travel to the Temple of Hatshepsut, a conceptualized representation of geometrically formed columns that are hewn into a cliffside. Educate yourself about the temple's background and the life of Queen Hatshepsut, the first female sovereign of Egypt. Walk around the courtyards and terraces, and observe the statues and glyphs that decorate them. 

Then, stop for pictures at the Colossi of Memnon: two overpowering statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which once stood in his long-deceased temple at his funeral. Listen to the stories and legends regarding the statues, and examine the Roman era written messages carved into the stone. Before your trip is over, perhaps you can visit an alabaster mine and, if you'd like, purchase some individual pieces of alabaster as souvenirs.
