Here you will go to the Valley of the Kings; Egypt's burial place of its pharaohs, featuring Thutmose I, Thutmose III, Tutankhamun, Ramses VI, Merneptah, and Amenhotep II. Afterwards, an exploratory trip will follow to the Holy Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the only female ruler of ancient Egypt. From here, you can take some time out to explore the remains of more of Luxor's most famous temples and tombs, such as the Colossi of Memnon and the remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

There is no difficulty in returning from the west to the east bank of Luxor. You can also cross by steamboat. Simply walking along the promenade along the dam will result in several people offering you passage on a motor boat. It's a really nice road to cross, and you can see the Luxor Temple as you go.

There are several five-star hotels side by side along the Nile, and the East Bank is far more developed. While few of the landmarks are in the East, most tourist shopping is there. The West Bank is more agricultural; in the center of each community are modest, family-run motels in addition to the large number of attractions that take place on the Luxor West Bank tour such as the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple.

The Valley of the Kings on the west bank of the Nile and the Karnak and Luxor Temples on the east bank are the main tourist destinations in Luxor. It's not easy to cruise both sides of the Nile in a single day, so if you want to see everything, give yourself two full days in Luxor. There may be affiliate links in this content.
