The monastery is surrounded by gardens and tall cypress trees and is run by the Greek Orthodox Church. Its library holds the world’s second-largest collection of illuminated manuscripts after the Vatican. You can see the famous Burning Bush and many beautiful works of art, including old icons, carved doors, colorful wall paintings, and other religious treasures.
