Rich with culture, history, and luxury in experience, Abu Dhabi is undoubtedly a memorable destination. The structures within the city and the likes of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Louvre Abu Dhabi are top in the innovation and heritage of Abu Dhabi, which is known for the wonderful buildings. From the most thrilling attractions like Ferrari World and Yas Marina Circuit in Yas Island to the most peaceful shores and desert landscapes, Abu Dhabi will simply enchant any traveler. For those visiting the UAE, it would be interesting to pair that visit with Dubai tours, as it would make things even more interesting by bringing two cities with all their famous landmarks together.

Location of Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi  is the capital city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is located on the island extending into the Persian Gulf in the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is the largest city in Abu Dhabi Emirate, which is in the north of the northern emirate states.

Abu Dhabi is easily accessible for those traveling between the two cities, as it is approximately 140 kilometers (87 miles) southwest of Dubai. The connected area-bridges-shows the central part of the city being situated in an island tributary: it's quite a beautiful waterfront scenery.

The history of Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi has a deep-rooted history that stretches thousands of years into the past. First, it was the habitat of nomadic Bedouins who frequented the site due to the activity-based pearl diving, which became the main possible economic sustenance for the area before discovering oil. The name itself, Abu Dhabi, means "the father of gazelles," and, in other words, this is derived from the region's history as a hunting ground for gazelles.
The Bani Yas tribe had by then come to settle in the place along with the Al Nahyan family, and it became their stronghold during the 18th century. Modern-day Abu Dhabi began life as a small fishing village at the beginning of the 1900s, an island located just off the coast, which later grew into the city that you find today.
The year 1958 heralded the discovery of oil that drastically changed the fortune of Abu Dhabi. Under the rule of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who took over in 1966, Abu Dhabi saw rapid modernization, further development and establishment of regenerative infrastructures, a flourishing economy, and definite improvement, thanks to the inflow of oil riches. Sheikh Zayed is often regarded as the Father of the Nation for his vision towards the union of the seven emirates in 1971.
Indeed, Abu Dhabi is now a world-class city, boasting a skyline with modern skyscrapers, structural wonders, cultural institutions, luxury tourism, and significant contributions of the energy sector to the whole world. Rapid as its development has been, the city managed to keep its connection with heritage and harmonize progress with traditional values and cultures.
